al-Mughayyir ((アラビア語:المغيّر)) is a Palestinian village in the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate, located 27 kilometers Northeast of Ramallah and 34 kilometers Southeast of Nablus, in the northern West Bank. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), the village had a population of 2,368 inhabitants in 2007.〔(2007 PCBS Census ). Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics. p.113.〕 According to villagers 75% of its land has been confiscated for Israeli settlements, military bases and natural reserves.〔('Israeli settlers torch mosque in Ramallah-area village,' ) Ma'an News Agency 12 November 2014〕 ==History== Potsherds from the Byzantine/Umayyad, Mamluk and early Ottoman period have been found.〔Finkelstein et al, 1997, pp. 750-1〕 The Palestine Exploration Fund's ''Survey of Western Palestine'' (SWP) found here "ancient cisterns, and a rock-cut winepress near the village, which is well built of hewn stone."〔Conder and Kitchener, 1882, SWP II, p. 402 〕
